The recalled Brie and Camembert cheeses have been linked to a Listeria outbreak that has resulted in several illnesses and one death. The investigation is ongoing, and consumers are advised to avoid consuming these products.

The following products are included in the recall:
- Shredded cotija cheese in 15 oz. bags, distributed to stores in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas
- Various Brie and Camembert cheeses sold under the Lidl, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe's, and Rizo López brands
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to dispose of them immediately or return them to the store for a full refund.

Listeriosis, the illness caused by Listeria monocytogenes, can have serious consequences. Symptoms of infection include:

- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
