Wolfsburg extend winning run, Lewandowski scores five in Bayern win
Wolfsburg net three against Hoffenheim
VfL Wolfsburg remain eight points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a 3-0 victory at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Vieirinha, Ivan Perisic and Bas Dost all netted for the visitors in the first half as Wolfsburg romped to a comfortable triumph that keeps them second in the table.
De Bruyne double inspires Bayern win
Bayern deservedly took the lead nine minutes into the match through winger Juan Bernat but fellow wide man Kevin De Bruyne deservedly drew Wolfsburg level before the break. The Belgian then struck again after the interval to give the visitors the lead and put the result beyond doubt. It was Bayern's first league defeat of the season, ending the defending champions' 16-match unbeaten run.
Lewandowski grabs five
Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski scored five goals as Bayern Munich thrashed Hamburg 8-0 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday. The Poland striker has now scored 18 goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season. Xherdan Shaqiri, Medhi Benatia and Arjen Robben also got on the scoresheet for the hosts, who leapfrog Borussia Dortmund into third place in the table. It was Bayern's biggest league win since 2013.
